Our little black cat, Abraham loves to play and also get into mischief. One morning he got himself into trouble with the grandfather clock that stood in the dining room. My other half had left for work but I was still asleep. I awoke an hour later only to find my cherry wood grandfather clock lying face down on the kitchen floor. The cat was standing in the living room looking toward the clock then looked at me as if he knew he was in big trouble. I was not too happy about this let alone still being half asleep and feeling like a grizzly bear still trying to wake up. I lifted the clock and noticed the wood on the crown of the clock was smashed which totally ruined the whole look of the clock. The clock still chimed even though the batteries were low but did somewhat sound a little more distorted. The clock mechanism was more than likely damaged from the fall. As a child I remember sometimes the old man, my dad, that is would speak about supernatural phenomena and hauntings. I recall one story he told about an old fish cannery that was apparently haunted. Recollection tells me this apparently haunted fish cannery was located in an area called Point Roberts in the US just about near the border of the British Columbia coast. The old man stated he had wandered on a beach and came upon an old abandoned cannery. He went inside and said he seen all these big heavy tables inside the building. When he went to leave after exploring the old building he went to exit and was startled to have noticed that one of the tables had mysteriously moved blocking his way from the exit. This sounded kind of spooky to me hearing this as a child but at the same time my logic told me there was a possible explanation for this seemingly weird happening.
